Hello Lincoln community,

We apologize for the impact the "Convictions of Conservatism" article had on the Lincoln community. When publishing this issue, we failed in our journalistic duty to cover the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer comprehensively. We did not address the real danger and harm that these white supremacy groups pose to members of our community, and we apologize for not taking responsibility for our ignorance in those errors. We are in the process of editing and proofing the article in hopes of providing more thorough and accurate coverage of these groups and their threat to people, especially marginalized groups, in our community and beyond. As we continue to develop as journalists, we will work to integrate as many perspectives as possible to ensure an adequate and comprehensive journalistic view of these topics. We value the feedback from our community, as it has allowed us to think more critically about the impact of our work as journalists.

Students who are still feeling deeply impacted by the article and would like to be a part of moving forward with a restorative process, please email Charnetta Hutson, Restorative Justice Specialist for PPS at chutson@pps.net by April 1st.

Again, we sincerely apologize for how this article impacted the Lincoln community.

Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
